Coaches’ Corner – Sylvan Lake Minor Hockey Association

Welcome Coaches, On-Ice Help & Managers!

Thank you for volunteering your time & energy to help give our kids a great season! There are a few things we will require as per Hockey Alberta regulations:

Criminal Record & Vulnerability check that has been issued since September 1, 2024. A letter requesting a CRC for the purpose of Coaching is available upon request.
Hockey Canada Shift Forward - Anyone who will be on the bench or ice it is required to have a current HC Shift Forward Certificate.
Coach Requirements - vary by position, please refer to Coach Requirement link below for requirements.
Safety - Each team requires one Safety person with a current Hockey Alberta Safety Course & HC Shift Forward Certificate.

*Complete your Hockey Canada Shift Forward Coach Certificate. Required for ALL coaching staff.

COACH REQUIREMENTS

Please check to see what coaching clinics both on and off-ice are required for the division that you intend to coach. All coaching clinics and requirements must be completed and linked to Hockey Canada ID (HCR #) by Nov. 15th.

VP of Development

The SLMHA Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Brandon Sutter as our VP of Development.

In 2020 SLMHA changed the structure of the former Director of Development role in order to better meet the needs of both our Association Players and Coaches.
